Carol CJ Johnston

Carole ""CJ"" Johnston, 60, of East Hartford, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, (May 31, 2013) at her home. Born in Manchester on June 22, 1952, she had been a resident of East Hartford for the past 20 years. Carole was a graduate of Manchester High School, Class of 1969 and has been employed by Comcast Cable Company, Berlin for over ten years as a sales specialist. She liked watching all sports, especially the UCONN Women's basketball team, and enjoyed traveling. Most of all, she was a proud and dedicated grandmother to her four grandsons, supporting them at school activities and various sporting events. Carole is survived by her beloved daughter, Cynthia ""Cindy"" (Stewart) Emilia and her significant other, John Wilcox, of East Hartford with whom she made her home; and her four special grandsons, Cory Emilia of Austin, TX, Cameron Emilia, Christian Emilia, and Connor Emilia all of East Hartford. She also leaves two sisters, Patricia Cote and her husband, Kenneth, of Manchester, and Lucille Jones of Rockville; Samantha McFarland of East Hartford; several nieces, nephews, co-workers, and friends.

Private funeral services and burial will be held at the convenience of the family. Carole's family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, June 5, from 5-7 p.m. at the D'Esopo-East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Carole's name may be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, 321 Research Parkway, #212, Meriden, CT 06450-8340.
