

Carol (Busher) Tuchay, 75, of East Hartford, loving wife of over 49 years of Gregory Tuchay, entered into eternal life on Sunday, March 25, 2018 at her home. Born in Putnam, on July 21, 1942, a daughter of the late Gordon “Dick” and Alice (Rogers) Busher, she had resided in East Hartford for the past 49 years. A devout catholic, she was an active communicant at the former St. Peter’s Church, Hartford and most recently at St. Christopher Church, East Hartford. Carol loved the Colt Park area in Hartford and would frequently visit the shrine in the park along with hanging home-made scarves on the trees for the homeless. A talented crafter, she enjoyed making various crafts for children to enjoy as well as rubber stamping, card making and learning about and maintaining her house plants. Prior to her retirement, Carol was employed for 36 years by the town of East Hartford Board of Education working at Willow Brook School in the “Head Start and Early Learning” programs. She loved her children and other children and followed her children and former student’s careers. Carol liked going to craft stores (A.C. Moore, Michael’s, and Jo-Anne Fabrics) along with her two favorite restaurants, Shady Glen in Manchester and Wang’s Place in Glastonbury where they knew her well. A devoted wife and mother, Carol was especially a proud of her grandkids who she loved to the moon and back.
In addition to her beloved husband Gregory, Carol is survived by a son, Matthew Tuchay and his significant other, Rebecca Baker of Manchester; a daughter, Beth Wrobel and her husband Matt of Colchester; a brother, Richard Busher; three adored grandchildren whom she loved to the moon, Kyle Tuchay, Katie Tuchay and Avery Wrobel; her grand-puppies, Shadow, Joe, Bella, Flash, grand- kitty, Chip; and many dear friends.
Funeral service will be Wednesday (March 28th) with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10 am at St. Christopher campus of St. Edmund Campion Parish, 538 Brewer Street, East Hartford. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford. (Everyone is asked to please go directly to the church on Wednesday morning). Relatives and friends may call at the D’ESOPO-East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford TODAY (March 27th) from 4-7 pm.
