Carole Jean Dalessio

December 13, 1943October 4, 2021

Carole Jean (Losito) Dalessio, 77, of East Hartford, CT, loving wife of 53 years of the late Harry Arthur Dalessio, peacefully passed away unexpectedly with her son Matthew by her side on Monday, October 4, 2021. She was born in Glen Ellyn, IL on December 13, 1943, and after her marriage in 1966 to Harry, they moved from Chicago to Barrington, RI. She quickly fell in love with Rhode Island and spent as much time there as she could over the course of her life. She had been a resident of East Hartford/Manchester CT area for over 35 years. Prior to her retirement, Carole spent a majority of her career at Manchester Memorial Hospital in the Admissions office. A devout catholic, Carole was a communicant of Our Lady of Peace Church, East Hartford. She enjoyed knitting, gardening, shopping, cooking and was always willing to help others, especially her elder neighbors. She was also a loyal fan of the Boston Red Sox and Boston Bruins. Most of all, Carole was a proud and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, who loved spending time with her grandchildren and supporting them at their school and sporting events. She was an incredible mother, always supporting her children through their life journey, trying to expose them to as many experiences as possible in their younger years. She never had an issue waking up for a 5am hockey game or devoting her free time to children’s activities. Recently, on any given weekend you could find Carole at many of the local baseball, soccer, basketball, softball venues supporting her three grandchildren. They loved having her attend their games and she enjoyed it even more. As well, she built a tradition of Sunday dinner with Andrew and his wife Donna. Carole was very engaged with and always there to help. Some memories include taking her grandchildren to the beach in Rhode Island, apple picking, lunch, go-karts, mini golf and frequent Saturday night babysitting. Her favorite road trips annually were to attend the Big E, as well as spend time in Narragansett. She laughed and reminisced all the time about the fun times on family vacations over the years with her best friend Jane Pezzullo and her god-daughter Jessica Pezzullo. Carole loved to help her neighbors; providing them company, conversation, driving to doctor appointments and the occasional Italian dinner. Carole is survived by her three cherished sons, Harry A. Dalessio and his wife Rebecca of South Glastonbury, CT, Andrew G. Dalessio and his wife Donna of East Hartford, CT, Matthew S. Dalessio of East Hartford, CT; and three adored grandchildren, Nicholas Dalessio, Brandon Dalessio, and Calla Dalessio all of South Glastonbury, CT. She also leaves a sister-in-law who was like a sister to her, Janice Dalessio and her husband Pete Gavrielides of East Northport, L.I., NY; a brother-in-law, Robert Dalessio and his wife Norma of Vernon, CT; a niece, nephew, and dear friends. Funeral service will be Tuesday (October 12, 2021) with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10:30 am at Holy Angels Catholic Church, 341 Maple Avenue, Barrington, RI. Burial will follow at Maria Del Campo Cemetery, corner of Barrington Avenue and Upland Way, Barrington, RI. Everyone is asked to please go directly to the church on Tuesday morning.
