
Cecile M. (Roy) Pelletier, 89, of East Hartford, loving wife of over 49 years to the late Leopold E. Pelletier, left this earth to join her beloved husband, on Monday, (April 27, 2009) at Manchester Memorial Hospital. Born in Topsham, ME. on December 18, 1919, a daughter of the late William L. and Lucilia M. (Tremblay) Roy, she worked assorted positions, including in the Maine shipyards during the war before moving to Connecticut. Cecile resided in East Hartford for over 55 years and was a former communicant of both St. Christopher and Blessed Sacrament Churches. While residing in East Hartford she was a stay-at-home mom and enjoyed many hours attending her flower gardens, listening to various music, and reading. Cecile was a proud grandmother who treasured visits from her grandchildren and whose activities she always took an interest in. Along with her beloved husband and parents, Cecile was predeceased by two brothers, Wilfred Roy and Lucien Roy, and two sisters, Lucille Roy and Germaine Roy. Cecile will be deeply missed by her six children, Elena Guinan and her husband, John, of Ottawa, Canada, Beverly Weymouth and her husband, Roger, of East Lyme, Barbara Smith and her husband, Richard, of Manchester, Michael Pelletier of Bolton, Anita Barnard and her husband, Michael, of Hampton, and Jane Pelletier of Beverly, MA. She is also survived by three sisters, Cora Patterson, Loretta Dirck and her husband, Robert, and Georgette York and her husband, Ace, all of Maine; a brother, Paul Roy and his wife, Phyllis, of Maine; two sisters-in-law, Maxine Martin of Maine, and Simone Rozniak and her husband, Leo, of New York; seven special grandchildren, Lisa Leeps and her husband, Mark, Jennifer Weymouth and her husband, Jason Polayes, Jeffrey Weymouth, Jeremy Smith, Meagan Smith, David Pelletier, and Daniel Pelletier; two adored great-grandchildren, Tyler and Jennie Leeps; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Friday, May 1st at 10 a.m. from the D'ESOPO-East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10:30 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church, Cambridge Drive, East Hartford. Burial will be at Hillside Cemetery, East Hartford. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home chapel on Friday morning from 9 - 10 a.m. Memorial contributions in Cecile's memory may be made to a favorite charity of the donor's choice. Cecile's family would like to thank the staff at Crestfield Rehabilitation Center in Manchester for their years of special care, service and love and also to the staffs of both the North Central Hospice Association and Manchester Memorial Hospital for their compassion and care given to Cecile and all of her family during this difficult time.
