Clara B. (Morin) Bernier

Clara B. (Morin) Bernier, 97, of East Hartford, entered eternal life on Saturday, July 4, 2026, at the Riverside Health Care and Rehabilitation Center in East Hartford. Born in Coaticook, province of Quebec, Canada on February 14, 1929, a daughter of the late Ferdinand and Caroline (Gauthier) Morin, she had been a resident of the East Hartford area for many years. Clara enjoyed crocheting, playing cards and bingo. She was an amazing cook and baker, known especially for her desserts.

Clara is survived by two sons, Ghislain “Jess”. Bernier and his fiancée Joan Linnehan of Southwick, MA, Yvan Bernier and his wife Linda of East Hartford; two special grandsons, Jason Bernier and his wife Kate of Mabank, TX, Yvan Bernier, Jr. and his wife Rachael of Manchester; a granddaughter, Jennifer Baez; four adored great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. In addition to her parents, Clara was predeceased by a daughter, Joanne Bernier of Hartford; a brother, Sylvio Morin of Canada; and three sisters.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday (August 22nd) at 11 am at Cedar Hill Cemetery, (Section 23), Hartford. There are no calling hours. The D’Esopo East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford has been entrusted with the care of the funeral arrangements.
