

Claudia Rae Killian, 62, of East Hartford, peacefully passed away with her loving family by her side on Monday, May 9, 2016 at her home. Born in Hartford on October 29, 1953, a daughter of the late David J. and Theresa “Terry” (O’Brien) Killian, she had been a resident of East Hartford since 1966. Claudia was a graduate of George J. Penney High School in East Hartford, Class of1972 and was a long-time communicant of St. Rose Church, East Hartford. Prior to her retirement in 2011, Claudia was employed for 38 years by the Manchester Manor Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. Claudia enjoyed listening to music, especially “Motown”; was an avid fan of the UCONN Women’s basketball team; and loved watching birds in her yard. Most of all, Claudia was a caring and devoted daughter, sister, aunt, and great-aunt who cherished her time being with her family and friends.
Claudia is survived by her caring sister, Ann E. Killian of East Hartford with whom she made her home; four brothers, David J. Killian, Jr. and his wife Irene of Bolton, John O. Killian and his wife Donna Ericson of West Hartford, Brian E. Killian of Hartford, William A. Killian, II of East Hartford; five beautiful beloved nieces, Raechel Lallier and her husband Dan of Wethersfield, Mia Smitt and her husband Derek of Wallingford, Kate Killian of Bolton, Meghan Killian and her wife Britt Killian of West Hartford, Anna Butler and her husband Matt of Philadelphia, PA; a darling nephew, John Killian, Jr. and his wife Amanda of Boston, MA; three adored great-nieces; and three adored great-nephews. She also leaves a special dear cousin, Janet Lee and her husband Rodney of North Granby; her long-time best friend, Susan Welch of East Hartford; and many dear friends and former co-workers.
Funeral service will be Friday (May 13, 2016) at 9 am from the D’Esopo-East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10 am at St. Rose Church, 33 Church Street, East Hartford. Burial will be at Mount Saint Benedict Cemetery, (Section W), Bloomfield. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home chapel on Thursday (May 12, 2016) from 4-7 pm.
