
Clyde Eugene Riley, 83, of East Falmouth, MA, peacefully entered into eternal life on Friday, (September 19, 2008) at Falmouth Hospital surrounded by his loving and caring family. Clyde was the devoted husband of fifty-three years to Marguerite (Hurley) Riley. Born on February 14, 1925 in Monroe, ME, a son of the late Frank E. and Mildred (Evans) Riley, he had resided in Wolcott for over thirty years prior to moving to Cape Cod twenty-five years ago. Clyde was a proud World War II veteran serving in the U.S. Navy where he was a Radioman Third Class. Prior to his retirement, Clyde was employed for over thirty-three years by Pratt & Whitney Aircraft Company in Southington where he retired as a foreman. Clyde was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed vegetable gardening, working on automobiles, camping with his family, as well as being an all-around handyman. However Clyde's greatest joy in life was his family and being a proud husband, father, and grandfather. Besides his beloved wife, Marguerite, Clyde is survived by three sons, Timothy D. Riley of Burlington, Robert F. Riley of Poughkeepsie, NY, Glenn E. Riley and his wife, Anne Marie, of West Hartford, a daughter, Cheryl R. Luisi and her husband, John Sr., of Litchfield, two brothers; Fred Riley of Winterport, ME, Lewis Riley and Shirley of Liberty, ME; two sisters; Edna Kenney and Eunice Palmer both of Belfast, ME; two brothers-in-law, Thomas Hurley and his wife, Jill, of East Hartford, Frank Morrone of Columbia, two sisters-in-law, Roberta Riley and June Riley both of Belfast, ME; six special grandchildren, Christopher Riley, Ellen Riley, Eric Riley, Michael Riley, Brett Riley, and Scott Riley; and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Funeral services will be Wednesday, September 24th at 9 a.m. from the D'ESOPO-East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter St., East Hartford, with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10 a.m. at St. Christopher Church, 538 Brewer Street, East Hartford. Burial with military honors will be at the State Veterans Cemetery, Bow Lane, Middletown.
