He was born in Biddeford, Maine on November 1, 1956 and moved with his family to Meriden, CT at a young age. He was the son of the late Chester and Theresa (Gagnon) Hatt. Danny’s passions included playing the guitar and harmonica, when he wasn’t coding on his computers, a skill he applied in his career as a dispatcher for FedEx. After his early retirement, he filled his time with his wife, Lucianna, by becoming a loving and giving foster parent, enriching many children’s lives through adoption and support, earning the couple much recognition on behalf of the State of Connecticut. Danny enjoyed the outdoors, landscaping, fishing and riding his Harley alongside his brothers of the Minute Men Motorcycle Club, where he continued expressing his compassion for giving, especially during school and Christmastime when he collected school supplies and Toys on behalf of veterans and their families.
Besides his wife Lucianna, Danny is survived by his God-sent sons, Kevin, Kenny and Buddy Hatt, with whom he resided; two loving daughters, Melissa and Yvonne Hatt; siblings, Barbara Deziedazic, Cindy Strugis and Thomas Hatt. Danny adored his Godson, Jordan Resnisky and always considered Jordan his son. Danny’s memory will be cherished by his grandchildren, Gavin, Calliope, Alaiszandra, Visario, Victoria and Miranda. He was predeceased by a brother, Michael Hatt.
A celebration of Danny’s life will take place on Sunday (August 8th) from 2 – 4pm at D’Esopo East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter St., East Hartford, CT. Words of remembrance will be shared at 4pm.
