Donna Senna (Hastings)

Donna (Hastings) Senna, 69, of Glastonbury and formerly of East Hartford, peacefully returned to eternal peace and happiness on Sunday, October 3, 2010 surrounded by her loving and caring family. Donna was the beloved wife of forty-eight years to Allan P. Senna. Born in Middletown on April 21, 1941, a daughter of the late Rodney and Marion (Daniels) Hastings, she had been a life-long resident of the Glastonbury/East Hartford area. Donna was a graduate of Glastonbury High School, Class of 1959 and was a proud home maker and caregiver. A devout Catholic, Donna was an active faithful communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church, East Hartford where she was a member of their Ladies Guild and Caregiver's Group. She was an avid ten-pin bowler who participated in many area leagues and competed and was a former champion in state tournaments. Donna was a loyal fan of the Boston Red Sox, who also enjoyed gardening, birds, and an overall animal lover. Besides her loving husband, Allan, Donna is survived by her three ""adopted daughters"", Audrey A. Brown and her husband, Brian, of East Hartford, Arleen M. Peronto and her husband, Jim, of East Hartford, Kara Hickey of South Windsor; a brother-in-law, Albert Senna and his wife, Lima, of Ocean Side, CA; a sister-in-law, Aileen Senna in North Carolina; two nephews, Dale Horn and his wife, Carolyn, and Gary Horn all in North Carolina; three nieces, Holly Senna in California, Catherine Reeves in North Carolina, Karen Rafferty and her husband, Kevin, in Virginia; many grandnieces, grandnephews, and several dear friends. Funeral services will be Friday (October 8th) at 9:30 am from the D'Esopo-East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10:30 am at Blessed Sacrament Church, East Hartford. Burial will follow at Center Cemetery, Elm Street, East Hartford. There are no calling hours.
