Obituary of Doris A. Bristol
Doris A. (Fournier) Bristol, 94, a longtime resident of East Hartford, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 14, 2023. Born in Holyoke, MA on October 5, 1928, a daughter of the late Leopold and Antonia (Dupras) Fournier, she had been a resident of East Hartford for sixty years. She graduated from precious Blood High School in 1946, in a class of 12 students. Doris met her husband Wayne at a dance hall in Holyoke and soon married him in January of 1957 and moved to the Hartford area. After starting a family they bought their first and only home in East Hartford. A devout catholic, she was a longtime faithful communicant of St. Christopher Church, East Hartford. She worked at Mass Mutual, IBM, Control Data and retired from Ceridian at the age of 62 to enjoy retirement. Retirement allowed her to spend as much time as possible with her granddaughter, Jennifer. Doris enjoyed gardening, making beautiful porcelain dolls, and loved all the cats in her life. Most of all she was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who cherished her time with her entire family. Doris will be deeply missed by her daughter and son-in-law, Janice and Thomas Maschi; her special granddaughter and her husband, Jennifer and Larry Keyser; and her four adored great-granddaughters, Emma, Allison, Ivy, and Willow. She also leaves behind two nephews, Kenneth Greaney and Douglas Greaney, and a niece, Donna Schreiner and their families; along with several good friends and neighbors. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Wayne E. Bristol; and a sister and brother-in-law, Lorraine and Michael Greaney. Funeral service will be Saturday (March 18, 2023) at 10:30 am at the D’Esopo East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park, (Section 24), Elm Street, Rocky Hill. There are no calling hours.
