

Elijah “Eli” Demitrius Santiago, 17, of Manchester, tragically passed away on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at Hartford Hospital from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident earlier in the week. Born in Hartford on January 14, 2009, a loving son of Stephanie Kate (Santana) Santiago and Dennis Santiago, he had been a resident of Manchester for over five years. Eli was a student attending New Horizons at the Manchester Regional Academy. He was a talented young adult who was mechanically gifted at assembling small engines. Eli also loved listening to music and most of all, he was a loving son, grandson, and brother.
Along with his beloved parents, Eli is survived by two brothers, Giovannie Santiago and Dennis Santiago, Jr. both of Manchester; two sisters, Luna’Mia Santiago and Geneva Santiago both of Manchester; his maternal grandparents, Ismael and Maria Santana of East Hartford; his paternal grandparents, Dilma Perez of West Hartford and Carlos Santiago of Springfield, MA; his maternal great-grandfather, Luis Santiago of Hartford; his paternal great-grandparents, Anibal and Victorina Soto of Hartford; many aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends.
Eli’s family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday (May 16, 2026) at the D’Esopo East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford from 10 am to 1 pm. A prayer service and words of remembrance will be at 1 pm at the funeral home chapel. Private burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
