Dellarippa, peacefully entered into eternal life to join her beloved husband on Saturday, October 1, 2022 at Middlesex Hospital. Born in Rome, Italy on March 7, 1929, a daughter of the late Enrico and Assunta (Colmegna) Pirola, she had been a resident of East Hartford since 1954. Emma grew up in Piazzalunga, province of Sondrio, Italy and graduated from a talented couture Fashion Design Academy before coming to the United States at the age of 19. She was always ahead of her times and “fashion forward”, especially in leopard designs. A woman of strong faith, Emma was a devout catholic and a longtime communicant of St. Christopher Church in East Hartford who had a special devotion to St. Anthony. She was always willing to help and see the best in everyone. She enjoyed her flower gardens, humming birds, butterflies, and playing her “scratch off” tickets. Most of all, she was a proud and dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother who cherished every moment with her family and friends. Emma is survived by two daughters, Cynthia M. Obst of East Hartford and Lebanon who was also her mother’s special caregiver, and Mary E.A. Dellarippa of East Hartford; three sons, Michael P. Dellarippa of Manchester, Francis “Fran” E. Dellarippa of Manchester, and Enrico “Henry” P. Dellarippa and his wife Deborah of Cummings, GA. She also leaves a brother, Leo Pirola and his wife Carolyn of Westfield, MA; a sister, Sophia Russo and her husband Sebastiano of Westfield, MA; six adored grandchildren, Alexander F. Obst and his life companion Wanda Santiago of Manchester, Enrico M. Obst and his wife Sarah of Lebanon, Francis J. Obst of Portland, OR, Stephanie Dellarippa and one’s promise Vincent Soto of Stone Mountain, GA, Joseph Dellarippa of Vernon, and Michael Brothers of Manchester; several nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Along with her beloved husband and parents she was predeceased by a brother, Remo Pirola of Westfield, MA. Private funeral service and burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
