To Eric's family, I met Eric many years ago through business/Empire Industries and we quickly got along and eventually became great business associates. I do not think I ever saw him without a smile and his kindness for others and care for Empire Industries were always present.  While he will obviously be sadly missed we should all remember what a special person he was. Whenever I will think of Eric I will always remember his smile and warmth for others.

Becky and Lily, we are so sorry for your loss.  I know that I should say more, but I honestly don’t know what to say, except that the obituary is so lovely.

Our hearts are broken; we are so very sorry for your loss. We are sending love, prayers, and condolences to you all. 

Sending prayers and love to you all.  This is a tremendous loss and I especially hope Becky and Lily feel the comfort and support of the entire community of friends and family blessed to have loved such a wonderful soul. 

It’s been years since I’ve seen Eric, but it always made me so happy to know he married his love in Becky and became a father to beautiful Lily.  Though his physical self is no longer in this third dimension, his love and spirit surrounds you and always will. 

My deepest condolences, prayers and love also surround Mr. and Mrs. Johansen, Heidi and Amy.  He was a loving son and big brother and words fall short to express my sympathy for your pain. Love endures and I hope you can feel it.

Eric was a good guy. I grew up in East Hartford with him.  He was always someone who could make you laugh.  He was smart and sharp witted. I hadn’t seen him in a long time, but the news was hard to hear. He will be missed by many. My love to Becky and the kids as well as all of his family and friends.

Eric and I first met before we were even in kindergarten. Looking back, he became my very first childhood friend and as kids we spent a great deal of time together. 

I can’t even begin to tell you how much fun we had growing up on Crescent Drive. If we weren’t at Goodwin Park swimming, we’d be playing Dungeons & Dragons in his backyard or fishing at the stream next to the Dairy or jumping our bikes off of home made ramps…you name it. I can’t forget to mention the sleepovers and playing Space Invaders on the Atari 2600 in his basement. You can say that I was pretty much a fixture at Mr. & Mrs. Johansen’s house.

So, it was a tremendous shock to hear of Eric’s passing. Eric was as genuine a person as there is and so much fun to be around. It’s impossible for me to look back at all of the great times we had without tearing up. Rest In Peace, old friend.

My deepest condolences go out to all that knew Eric, but especially his family.   While I did not know Eric all that well personally, it was always a pleasure to work with him.   He will be missed greatly.

What I respected the most about Eric was his humility. He was an exceptional talent, but never conveyed any sense of superiority (when in many cases it would have been justified). The loss of Eric is devastating to many of us because of his unbelievable character. I feel very blessed to have known and worked with Eric. Many people go through life without having the gift of association of a person like Eric.
