Gerald E. Litz

Gerald “Jerry” E. Litz, 70, lifelong resident of East Hartford, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday February 12, 2023. Born on April 22, 1952, he was the son of Geraldine (Byers) Litz of East Hartford and of the late John Litz Sr. Jerry was a graduate of George J. Penney High School in East Hartford, class of 1970. Prior to his retirement, Jerry worked at Pratt and Whitney Aircraft, East Hartford for over 45 years. He was a sports enthusiast who enjoyed watching all sports on television. Jerry also enjoyed bike riding and was always ready with a joke to share for everyone he saw on his daily errands.

Along with his beloved mother, Jerry sadly leaves behind his four siblings; John “Jack” Litz and his wife Wendy of New Hampshire, Terri Litz Johnson of Manchester, Roxanne Johnson and her husband Stephen of Middletown, Timothy Litz and his wife Rhonda of East Hartford, along with many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Private funeral service and burial will be held at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. The D’Esopo-East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford has been entrusted with the care of the arrangements.
