Geraldine T. Litz

Geraldine (Byers) Litz, 96, passed away peacefully at home with family on August 14th, 2023. Born and raised in her beloved Bangor Maine she moved to Connecticut where she found lasting friendships and a love of skating at the old roller skating rink where she met her husband John "Jack" Litz who predeceased her. Geraldine retired from G. Fox where she worked as a bookseller for many years. She loved her job and would often meet interesting people like, Chef Tell and Arnold Schwarzenegger while hosting book signings. Geraldine was an artist. In her spare time she could be found creating and painting very detailed ceramic statues until later in life when she took up graphic design on the computer.

Geraldine will be dearly missed by her children, Jack and Wendy Litz of New Hampshire, Terri Johnson of Manchester, Roxanne and Stephen Johnson of Middletown, Tim and Rhonda Litz of East Hartford, 10 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. Predeceased by her son Gerald Litz.

Private funeral service and burial will be held at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. The D'Esopo - East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford has been entrusted with the care of the arrangements.
