

Germano “Jim” Presutti, 84, of East Hartford, loving husband of 56 years of Gloria (Shea) Presutti, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 20, 2012. Born in Italy on October 31, 1927 in the town of Pratola Pelinga, province of L'Aquila, he entered the United States in 1936. He settled in Hartford until 1959 when he married Gloria, and moved to East Hartford. Jim retired form the State of Connecticut in 1989 after 34 years of dedicated service as a superintendant at the Department of Motor Vehicles facility. Jim was a proud veteran of World War II in the United States Navy aboard the USS Glennon 840. He was a life-time member of the BPOE Lodge #1893 of Manchester and a past Exalted Ruler of BPOE Lodge #2063, East Hartford.
Jim was also an avid gardener who loved cooking, bowling, and playing cards. Besides his beloved wife, Gloria, Jim leaves behind three sons, John Leo Presutti and his wife, Gwendolyn Quezaire-Presutti of East Hartford, Kenneth Patrick Presutti and his wife, Janet Presutti, of Vernon, and James Michael Presutti of East Hartford. He is also survived by three brothers, Robert Presutti and his wife, Lucia Motta Presutti of Durham, John Columbo Presutti and his wife, Katina Presutti, of Ann Arbor, MI, Ralph Presutti and his wife, Fran Presutti, of Wethersfield; a sister, Lucille Dzakowie and her husband, Tom Dzakowie, of Colorado Springs, CO; three special grandchildren, Nicole Presutti, David Presutti, and Brian Presutti; a great-grandson, Tre Sotomayor; many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Jim was predeceased by his parents, John Guida Presutti and Rafaela (Delorato) Presutti, and a brother, Victor Angelo Presutti.
Private funeral services and burial will be held at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Jim’s name may be made to the Humane Society of the United States, 2100 L Street NW, Washington, D.C., 20037. The D’ESOPO-East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford has been entrusted with the care of the funeral arrangements.
