Gloria Grant

Gloria “Glo” (Vendrillo) Grant, 94, of East Hartford, loving wife of over seventy years to the late William Francis Grant, Sr., journeyed home to join her husband in eternal life on Wednesday January 4, 2017. Born in Hartford on June 11, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Marion Rice and John D. Vendrillo, and had been a resident of East Hartford for over 70 years. A devout catholic, Glo was a faithful communicant of St. Christopher Church, East Hartford for 60 years, and was a proud home maker and a very devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.

Glo was the mother of Lynda G. Montefusco and her husband, Mattia, of Windsor Locks, and the late William Francis Grant, Jr. of East Hartford. She is also survived by a sister, Rita Hanson of East Hartford; four cherished grandsons; eight adored great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and two special dear friends, Barbara and Mary. Along with her beloved husband and mother, Gloria was predeceased by her step-father, Louis Rice, and her sister, Marie Dangona.

Funeral service will be Monday (January 9, 2017) with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10 am at St. Christopher Church, 538 Brewer Street, East Hartford. Burial will follow at Veteran’s Memorial Field-Silver Lane Cemetery, East Hartford. At Gloria’s request, everyone is asked to please go directly to the church on Monday morning and there will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Gloria’s name may be made to St. Anne Shrine, 16 Church Street, Fiskdale (Sturbridge), MA 01518. The D’ESOPO-East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford has been entrusted with the care of the funeral arrangements.
