Hector Diaz-Cruz

Hector Freddy Diaz-Cruz, 78, of East Hartford, passed away surrounded by his family on Tuesday, December 12, 2023. Born on October 1, 1945 to the late Aurora (Cruz) and Leoncio Diaz in Puerto Rico before moving to East Hartford where he would then raise a family of his own. Hector retired as a fabricator in the manufacturing industry. In his free time, Hector enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family. He was a loving and protective father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

Hector will be dearly missed by his two children; Freddie Diaz of Manchester and Sandra Rosario and husband Jose of Royal Palm Beach, Florida. Five grandchildren; Brianna, Marianna, Lilianna, Nicole, and Shanelys. One great-grandson Ricky. Four siblings; Luis "Guicho" Diaz of Puerto Rico, George "Gino" Diaz of Texas, Luz DeJesus of Florida, and Nancy Ocasio of Hartford. Along with several nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Funeral services for Hector will be private. He will be buried in Puerto Rico next to his parents at a later date. The D’Esopo East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street East Hartford has been entrusted with the care of the funeral arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations in Hector's memory be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
