

James P. Peruccio, 96, of East Hartford, beloved husband of the late Helen (Vinisko) Peruccio, passed away with his caring and loving family by his side on Saturday, (September 4, 2010) at the Riverside Health Care & Rehabilitation Center in East Hartford. Born in Hartford on June 11, 1914, a son of the late Paul and Maria (Amenta) Peruccio, he had been a life-long resident of East Hartford. Prior to his retirement he was a construction foreman for Local 230 in Hartford where he was employed for forty years. A proud World War II veteran of the U.S. Army, he was a life-member of the Disabled American Veterans, and a member of the VFW Post #2083 in East Hartford. James was a faithful and loyal Boston Red Sox fan who also enjoyed horse racing, dog racing, playing cards, and gardening. Along with his beloved wife and parents, James was predeceased by two sons, Paul J. Peruccio and James M. Peruccio both of East Hartford; a brother, Paul J. Peruccio of Lebanon; and three sisters, Josephine LaChance of Colchester, Lucy Gammo of East Hartford, and Ann Wocoski of Rocky Hill. James is survived by a son, Michael Peruccio and his wife, Peggy, of Coventry; two daughters, Lenora P. Jordan and her husband, Jim, of East Hartford, Mary Lee Bogovic and her husband, Ed, of South Ogden, Utah; two daughters-in-law, Rosalie Peruccio and Sandra Peruccio both of East Hartford; a sister, Pauline Cline and her husband, Thomas, of East Hartford; a brother-in-law, John Wocoski of Rocky Hill; fourteen grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; one great-great grandson; many nieces, nephews and dear friends. Funeral services will be Wednesday (September 8, 2010) at 9:30 a.m. from the D'ESOPO- East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Peace Church, 370 May Road, East Hartford. Burial with military honors will follow at Silver Lane Cemetery, East Hartford. James' family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday (September 7, 2010) from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home chapel.
