Joan Elizabeth Feloney (nee Keefe), 82, of Manchester, died peacefully at home on September 14, 2026. For more than 30 years, Joan shared her life with her beloved husband, the late Joseph Feloney. She was stepmother to Kevin (Mary), Karen, Kimberly, and Brian (Sarah), Grandma Joan to Hannah and Maya, and cherished aunt to nearly two dozen nieces and nephews. She was the daughter of the late Raymond S. Keefe and Lucy (nee McKee) Keefe, and the dear sister of the late James Keefe, Margery Conover and Audrey Farnum. The family would like to thank Joseph Afreh, who took special care of Joan.
Joan lived her life with infectious laughter, independence, a sense of adventure, and a deep appreciation for life’s simple pleasures. She treasured time with family, a good round of golf, snow birding in Florida, bargain hunting, and befriending just about any dog that crossed her path. Joan kept friendships with classmates from Lasell University for more than 60 years.
She leaves behind a family who loved her, lifelong friends who will miss her, and—somewhere, we like to imagine—a whole lot of dogs who were lucky enough to have met her.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, September 24, at 11:00 a.m. at St. James Church of St. Teresa of Calcutta Parish, 896 Main Street, Manchester. Everyone is asked to please go directly to the church. Burial to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, East Hartford. The family respectfully requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital www.stjude.org The D’Esopo-East Hartford Memorial Chapel has been entrusted with the arrangements.
