John William Little

John William Little, Sr., 90, of East Hartford, loving husband of 48 years of the late Mary (Foran) Little, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 24, 2014 at his home. Born in New York City, NY on August 17, 1924, the son of the late John and Alice (Buckley) Little, he had been a resident of East Hartford for the past 79 years. John was a graduate of East Hartford High School, Class of 1942 and a U.S. Army veteran during World War II. John was a hard working individual who retired from SNET after 45 years of dedicated service in the Hartford area as an Inside Repair Man. He enjoyed working around his yard and was a devoted and proud husband, father, and grandfather. Besides his beloved wife and parents, John was predeceased by a son, Robert “Bobby” Anthony Little of North Hollywood, CA, a granddaughter, Christina Marie (Little) Rafala of Manchester, and a sister, Alice Little of California.

John is survived by three sons, John W. Little, Jr. of Manchester, James Little and his wife, Patricia, of Wethersfield, Mark Little of Storrs; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Private funeral service and burial will be held at Veteran’s Memorial Field-Hillside Cemetery, East Hartford. There are no calling hours. The D’Esopo-East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford has been entrusted with the care of the funeral arrangements.
