

John D. Pragosa, 38, of Goffstown, NH and formerly of East Hartford and South Windsor, unexpectedly entered into eternal life on Sunday, February 8, 2015 in New Hampshire from a sudden heart attack. Born in Hartford on July 20, 1976, he resided in the East Hartford/South Windsor area for most of his life prior to moving to New Hampshire in 2009. John was a graduate of East Hartford High School, Class of 1994. He enjoyed working on automobiles and loved to sing. He was an excellent chef who liked cooking for his family and friends. Most of all, John loved being a new father who cherished spending time with his baby daughter. John is survived by his wife of over two years, Amber S. (Stanhope-Aiello) Pragosa of Goffstown, NH; his adored baby daughter, Emelina Isabel Pragosa of Goffstown, NH; his mother, Maria Filomena DaCosta and her husband, Antonio L. DeBarros, of South Windsor; his father, Joaquim C. Pragosa of Newington; his devoted brother, Jack D. Pragosa of South Windsor; his maternal grandmother, Elvira DaCosta of South Windsor; a niece and two nephews, Jacklynn M. Pragosa, Tyler John Pragosa, and Zackary R. Pragosa all of South Windsor; his god-parents, Amandio and Manuela Inacio of South Windsor; aunts and uncles, Maria Ferrabelo and her husband, Raul, of South Windsor, Jose DaCosta and his wife, Cheryl, of Windsor, Armando DaCosta and Joao DaCosta both of South Windsor, Rosa Magalhaes and her husband, Fernando, of Newington, Paula Bordonaro and her husband, Sebastiano, of South Windsor, Julia Pragosa of Newington, along with several other aunts and uncles in Portugal; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Linda Stanhope and Lawrence Meuse of Salem, NH; two brothers-in-law, James Stanhope and his son Jaxon of Newmarket, NH, Tony Stanhope and his son Case O'Neil of Methuen, MA; many cousins and dear friends. Funeral service will be Saturday (February 14th) with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10 am at St. Philip's Church, 150 South Main Street (Route 5), East Windsor. (Everyone is asked to please go directly to the church on Saturday morning). Burial will follow at Mount Saint Benedict Cemetery, (Section 19-St. Justin's), Bloomfield. Relatives and friends may call at the D'Esopo-East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford on Friday (February 13th) from 3-7 pm.
