It is with deep love and sorrow that we share the passing of Jose E. Baez, who went home to be with the Lord on September 30, 2025. Born in Puerto Rico, he made East Hartford, Connecticut, his home for most of his life. As a proud veteran and dedicated employee of the Town of East Hartford, Jose lived his life with humility, strength, and service.
Jose leaves behind with us a remarkable Legacy of Love. A devoted husband to Iris Baez for 30 beautiful years, together they built a deep and joyful bond, true love birds who built their life on faith, laughter, and unwavering support for one another. His greatest pride and priority was the family they built together. He treasured his family which included his adult children, grandchildren, and his beloved wife, Iris, always putting them first and filling their lives with love, wisdom, and warmth.
A man of God, Jose’s faith guided every step of his life. His kindness, generosity, and quiet strength touched all who knew him. Jose’s life was defined by the love he gave, the sacrifices he made, and the example he set. Though we mourn his passing, we rejoice in the assurance that he rests in the Lord’s eternal peace and embrace. Jose will be deeply missed and forever remembered by his beloved wife, adult children, grandchildren, family, friends, future generations, and all whose lives he touched. His memory will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know him.
“Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise.”
Luke 23:43
