June Theresa (Gardner) Cardell

June Theresa (Gardner) Cardell, 82, loving wife for 62 years of the late Thomas Joseph Cardell, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 11, 2017 at Hartford Hospital after a long illness. Born in Lowell, MA on July 11, 1935, a daughter of the late Theresa (Beaulieu) Gardner, she had been a resident of East Hartford since 1965. June was a talented duckpin bowler who participated in leagues for many years and also enjoyed needle-point, solving crossword and jigsaw puzzles, playing Scrabble, vegetable gardening, and watching Jeopardy. She was also a fan of the New York Yankees and a proud and dedicated mother and grandmother.

June is survived by a son, Denis P. Cardell and his wife, Deborah, of Glastonbury; four sisters, Janice Musumano of Cromwell, Joyce Gardner of Farmington, Nancy Spearin of New Britain, Sandra Stern and her husband, Andy, of Bloomfield; three cherished grandchildren, Michael Cardell and his wife, Samielle, of Glastonbury, Amanda Brazauski and her husband, Ken, of East Hartford, Matthew Cardell of Manchester; one adored great-grandson, Connor Brazauski of East Hartford; many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Along with her beloved husband and mother she was predeceased by two sons, Thomas J. Cardell and Christopher J. Cardell both of East Hartford; a brother, Denis Gardner; and a sister, Lynda Gardner.

Private funeral service and burial will be held at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours.
