Karl A. Stenger
August 5, 1930 – June 28, 2021
Karl A. Stenger, 90, of East Hartford, husband of the late Roseann (Gagliardi) Stenger, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 28, 2021. Born in Hartford on August 5, 1930, he was the son of the late Steven and Katherine (Umback) Stenger and had lived in the area all his life. Karl was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army, serving as a medic during the Korean War. He was employed by Teamsters Local #559 and was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and UConn Women’s Basketball.
A loving father and grandfather, Karl will be forever missed by his son, Lawrence Stenger and fiancée Brenda Mazzarella of East Hartford and his granddaughter, Sara Stenger of Manchester. He was sadly predeceased by his beloved son, Peter Stenger and by his sister, Terry Cwickla. Special thanks to Brenda Mazzarella for her compassionate care.
A Graveside Service with military honors will be held on Friday (July 2) at 10 a.m. at the State Veterans’ Cemetery, 317 Bow Lane, Middletown.
