Kathleen V. Kehoe Oney

Kathleen V. (Kehoe) Oney, 66, of East Hartford, loving wife of 47 years of Richard J. Oney, passed away on Monday, (September 17, 2012) with her caring family by her side. Born in Hartford on Aug. 26, 1946, a daughter of the late Frederick and Veronica Kehoe, she had been a life-long resident of East Hartford. Prior to her retirement, Kathleen was employed for over 22 years by Liberty Mutual Insurance Company in Glastonbury. She enjoyed knitting and was a fan of the UCONN Women's basketball team and the Boston Red Sox. Mostly, she was a proud grandmother who took great pride spending time with her grandchildren and supporting them at various events. Besides her beloved husband, Richard, Kathleen is survived by a daughter, Melissa John of East Hartford with whom she made her home; two sons, Rick Oney and his wife, Marge, of East Hartford, Jason Oney and his wife, Sandra, of Wales, MA; eight special grandchildren, Hannah, Maxwell, and Tyler Oney, Kristina Maudsley, Grace and Eve Oney, Angela and Zachary John; three adored great-grandchildren, Starr, Donavan, and Gavin; several nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Funeral services will be Thursday, Sept. 20 at 9 a.m. from the D'Esopo-East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter St., East Hartford with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, corner of Main St./Maplewood Ave., East Hartford. Private burial will be held at the convenience of the family. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home chapel on Wednesday, Sept. 19 from 4-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Kathleen's name may be made to the ALS Association of CT (Lou Gehrig's disease), 4 Oxford Road, Unit D4, Milford, CT 06460.
