

Kenneth “Kenny” W. Plecity, 75, of East Hartford, loving husband of 37 years of Rene (Cerasale) Plecity, peacefully passed away on Monday, May 11, 2026, with his caring family by his side. Born in Hartford on September 18, 1950, a son of the late Leo and Martha Mae (Forrest) Plecity, he had been a resident of East Hartford for the past 33 years.
Prior to his retirement, Kenny was a well-liked Deli Coordinator at Price Chopper Supermarket in Windsor for over 20 years. He also worked as the Deli Manager at the former Andy’s Supermarket, Main Street, East Hartford for several years before going to Price Chopper. Kenny was a former member of the TKB Club in Rockville and was an avid loyal fan of the New York Giants and New York Yankees. In his spare time, he enjoyed going to auctions, antique shops and flea markets where he would find old treasures. Most of all, Kenny was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who liked supporting and cheering on his son at hockey and baseball games.
In addition to his beloved wife Rene, Kenny is survived by his son, David Plecity and his wife Nelisha of New Britain; two daughters, Kimberly Griffin and her husband Eric of Enfield, Jodie Dube and her partner Karin McCue of Vernon; seven special grandchildren; and five adored great-grandchildren. He also leaves a brother, Ronald Plecity and his wife Mabel of Manchester; his mother-in-law, Joan (Gendron) Cerasale of Middletown; two brothers-in-law, James Cerasale and his wife Christine of Wallingford, Michael Cerasale of Meriden; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
Kenny’s family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday (May 17th) from 3 – 5 pm at the D’Esopo East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford followed by prayers and words of remembrance at 5 pm.
