

Laurence E. “Larry” Styga, 70, of Tolland and formerly of East Hartford, passed on Friday, March 7, 2025. Larry was the loving husband of his high school sweetheart, Roxann B. (Macri) Styga for over 49 years. Born in Hartford on February 15, 1955, a son of the late Walter and Frances M. (Bandroff) Styga, he had resided in East Hartford for many years prior to moving to Tolland 25 years ago. Larry was a graduate of George J. Penney High School in East Hartford, class of 1973. He retired as a Quality Control Inspector from Pratt & Whitney Aircraft Co., East Hartford in 2021 after 49 years of dedicated service. Larry enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a former member of the East Hartford Sportsman Association. Larry was a talented woodworker who liked making furniture and other personal wood items for his family and friends to enjoy. He was also a huge fan of NASCAR, especially Dale Earnhardt, Sr. and Dale Jr. However, most of all Larry was a fan of his grandchildren and was a proud supporter of them wholeheartedly in whatever they did.
Along with his beloved wife Roxann, Larry is survived by a daughter, Melanie A. Erickson and her husband Jon of Nashville, TN; a son, Brian W. Styga and his significant other, Kelly Hoffman, of Torrington; eight adored grandchildren, Taylor Erickson of South Bend, IN, Madison Erickson, Cailyn Erickson, and Andrew Erickson all of Nashville, TN, Joshua Styga, Zachary Styga, and Christopher Styga all of Cromwell, and Aiden Hoffmann of Torrington. He also leaves his two brothers, Michael Styga of New Britain, Walter Styga and his wife Jan of Standish, Maine; three brothers-in-law, Rocco Macri and his wife Lori of Andover, Michael Macri and his wife Joanne of Conway, SC, Louis Macri of East Hartford; several nieces, nephews, cousins, former co-workers, and dear friends.
Funeral service will be Friday (March 14, 2025) at 1 pm at the D’Esopo East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford. Private burial will be at the convenience of the family. Larry’s family will receive relatives and friends at the funeral home chapel on Friday (March 14th) from 11 am to 1 pm.
