Lewis Delano

Lewis E. Delano Jr, 86, of East Hartford, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday June 11, 2017. Born in Madison, Maine on January 13, 1931 to the late Effie Meservey and Lewis Delano Sr. He was predeceased by his wife Jean (Geithner), sisters, Alice Friess, Roberta Milliken, and Madeline Martikainen. He is survived by his children Judy Turcotte of Maine, Elaine McDougal of East Hartford, Daniel Delano of Virginia, David Delano and Laurene Delano of South Carolina, step-children Beverly O'Brien of Newington, Susan Dawe of Florida, Lori Ayotte of Maine, and Julie Demers of Coventry, a sister Dora Kennedy of East Hartford, and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. A memorial service celebrating Lewis' life will be held at D'Esopo East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter St. East Hartford, CT on Sunday June 18, 2017 from 1pm to 3pm. Lewis will be buried with his parents at Forest Hills Cemetery, Kansas Rd. Bridgton, Maine on Monday at 1pm. In lieu of flowers the family has asked that memorial donations in Lewis's name be made to the American Heart Association , 4 Brookside Drive.
