
Lisa C. (Tougas) Barrows, 49, of East Hartford, loving and devoted wife of Brad E. Barrows, journeyed home to be with the Lord on Thursday (May 18, 2006) at the Hebrew Home & Hospital in West Hartford. Born in Hartford on January 30, 1957, a daughter of Mary Leontine (Bouchard) Tougas and the late Joseph Roland Tougas, she had been a life-long resident of the East Hartford area. Lisa was a graduate and member of the Class of 1975 of George J. Penney High School, East Hartford. She was employed for many years by Textron Financial Corporation, Glastonbury as an audit support specialist. Lisa was first and foremost a faithful servant of the Lord Jesus Christ. She never sought recognition for the things she did in her service for the Lord. Her gentle love and passion for the Lord has touched the lives of her family, friends, co-workers and community at large. She was a faithful and devoted long-time member of Crossroads Community Cathedral, in East Hartford where she was a co-leader, with her husband, Brad, of a small group, and assisted with the children's ministry. Lisa also enjoyed cooking, gardening, and photography, yet her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family, especially her beloved husband, nieces and nephews. Besides her loving husband, Brad, of 21 years, and her mother, Mary, both of East Hartford, Lisa is survived by her caring siblings, Marc and Rosemary Tougas of Tolland, Monica and Rodney Goodale of Hebron, Suzanne and Robert Hazard of Hudson, FL, Sandra Netto of Kissimmee, FL, Paul and Michele Tougas of Tolland, Lucy and Scott Harrison of Colchester, Bruce and Cindy Tougas of East Hartford, Allen Tougas of Hamden, Gil Tougas of East Hartford, Philip and Carla Tougas of Wethersfield, Vincent and Margaret Tougas of Willington; her mother-in-law, Rita E. Rock of Colchester, VT; two brothers-in-law and their wives, Clay and Linda barrows of Essex Center, VT, Andy and Leeann Barrows of North Hero, VT; many adored nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Besides her father, Lisa was predeceased by a niece, Arabella Mariah Tougas formerly of East Hartford. Funeral service will be Monday, May 22nd with a celebration of her life at 11 a.m. at Crossroads Community Cathedral, 1492 Silver Lane, East Hartford. Burial will follow at Silver Lane Cemetery, East Hartford.
