

Lois (Lowrey) Petrolito, 77, of East Hartford, loving wife of 52 years of the late Luciano “Lou” Petrolito, peacefully passed away on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at Hartford Hospital. Born in New Britain on January 10, 1949, a daughter of the late Allen and Dorothy (Martin) Lowrey, she had been a resident of the city of Hartford for most of her adult life prior to moving to East Hartford in 2021. Lois grew up in the Whigville section of Burlington and was a graduate of Lewis S. Mills High School, class of 1967. Prior to her retirement, she was a dedicated worker for over 40 years at American Linen & Supply Company on Wethersfield Avenue in Hartford.
A longtime member of the Teamsters for Laundry Dry Cleaning Workers & Allied Industries in White Plains, NY, she served as a shop steward for many years. She was an avid reader who always had a book in her hand. She liked to crochet Afghans for her family and friends to have and she enjoyed cooking, especially her famous mac n cheese that everyone asked for. She was also a loyal fan of the UConn Women’s basketball team along with rooting for the New York Giants, Boston Red Sox, and the former Hartford Whalers. Most of all, she was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who cherished each moment she spent with her entire family.
Lois is survived by her son, Michael S. Petrolito and his wife Felicia S. Anthony of Wethersfield; her caring daughter, Lucia L. Petrolito of East Hartford with whom she made her home; a brother, Martin Lowrey and his wife Beth of the Whigville section of Burlington; two sisters, Patricia Niver and her husband Harold of Waterbury, Robin Haviland and her husband Charlie of Dudley, MA; seven special grandchildren, Greih, Veronica, Jaron, Gabby, Felayja “Lay Lay”, Keva “KJ”, and Stavon; five adored great-grandchildren, Noah, Nemias, Janiya, Nia, and Jordyn; several nieces, nephews, cousins, former co-workers, and several dear friends.
Funeral service celebrating Lois’ life will be Thursday (May 7th) at 12 pm at the D’Esopo East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter St, East Hartford followed by burial at Cedar Hill Cemetery, (Section 23), Hartford. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home chapel on Thursday morning from 11 am to 12 pm.
