

Lottie (Hicks) Ritchie, 79, lifelong resident of East Hartford, loving companion of Elbert Jones for over 32 years, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at Hartford Hospital. Born in Hartford on December 22, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Irwin Hicks and the late Violet (Ashwell) Hicks. Lottie was a member of the South End Senior Center in East Hartford where she volunteered regularly. She loved Elvis and was a fan of the Yankees. Along with her beloved companion Elbert, Lottie is survived by her daughters, Christine Ritchie of East Hartford, Sheral Ramos and husband Norberto of Torrington; sisters, Bonnie Kelley and her husband Marty, Jeanette Lavado and husband Edward and Helen Hicks; brothers, Freddy Hicks and wife Mary, Butchie Hicks and Bernie Hicks; five adored grandsons, Zachary Ryan Kelly, Zachary Ritchie, Garrett Ritchie, James Melo and Joseph Melo and four cherished great-grandchildren, Tyler James Melo, Angelenna Savage, Hailey Jane Melo and Gabriel Melo. Beside her parents, Lottie was predeceased by her beloved son, Wayne John Ritchie and sister Ervine Hicks.
Memorial service will be Sunday (January 28) from 11 -1 p.m. at the D’Esopo-East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford. Burial will be private.
