

Lucy (Tedeschi) Carman, 78, of East Hartford, loving wife of the late Charles Carman, Jr., passed away peacefully on Monday July, 16, 2018 at St. Francis Hospital. Born on July 29, 1939 in Hartford, she was the daughter of the late David Tedeschi and Maria (DeCesare) Tedeschi. Lucy was employed by Sterling Manor for over 35 years and more recently retired from The Federation of the Blind in East Hartford after 11 years. She also worked for many years as a butcher at Savage Meat Market in East Hartford. A loving mother and grandmother, Lucy will be forever missed by her son, Charles Carman, III and her granddaughter, Tina Carman. In addition, she is survived by her brothers, David Tedeschi and wife Barbara of Newington and Gaetano Tedeschi and wife Betsy of New Britain; her sisters-in-law, Paulina S. Carman, who was like a sister to Lucy, and Nina Carman; her niece, Paulina K. Carman and daughters Heidi and Sabrina; niece, Christina Carman-Nurse and husband Edric Nurse; her step-granddaughter, Nicole Rubaha, Maryann Ludwig (who Lucy raised as her own daughter) and her children, Jamie Ludwig, Crystal Ludwig, Joey Ludwig, Chyna Ludwig and Preston Ludwig, as well as many other nieces, nephews and extended family members. In addition to her husband and parents, Lucy was predeceased by her beloved daughter, Lucy Carman; her sister, Lina Pizzoferrato; brothers-in-law, Robert D. Carman, Sr. and Russell Carman and sister-in-law, Charlotte Chamberlain. She was also predeceased by Jim Ludwig, Louie Ludwig and Jessica Ludwig.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday (July 24) from 9-9:45 a.m. at the D’Esopo-East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 a.m. at North American Martyrs Parish (St. Rose Church), 33 Church St., East Hartford. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, East Hartford.
