
Lucy (Rizza) Morris, 78, of Glastonbury, loving wife of the late Charles G. Morris, Jr., entered peacefully into eternal life on Wednesday (March 18, 2009) at her residence with her caring family by her side. Born in Hartford on May 10, 1930, a daughter of the late Salvatore and Margaret (Ferraro) Rizza, she grew up in Hartford and resided most of her adult life in Vernon, where she and her late husband raised their five children. Lucy was a graduate of Hartford Public High School, Class of 1948. Lucy was employed by the Vernon National Bank for many years and was also a retiree from Aetna Insurance Company in Middletown, where she worked for 25 years. Lucy was a former 'mall walker' at Buckland Hills Mall in Manchester, an avid reader, and also enjoyed sewing. However, she will be remembered as a phenomenal cake decorator, especially of wedding cakes. Lucy is survived by her five children, Suellyn Hurley and her husband James, of Marlborough, Karen Boulais and her husband Norman, of Vernon, Charles 'Chuck' Morris and his wife Lynn, of East Windsor, Sally Nixon and her partner Maureen Powers, of Randolph, MA, son-in-law, Mark Nixon of South Windsor, Todd Morris and his wife Wendi, of West Stafford; seven beloved grandchildren, Nicholas Hurley, Chuck, Kyle, and Stephanie Morris, Mark and Nicole Nixon, Kennedy Lucia Morris; many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Lucy is also survived by a loving sister, Tina Siwik and her husband Chester, of Vernon; and a brother-in-law, Armando 'Tarz' Marques of Windsor. Along with her beloved husband of 34 years and her parents, Lucy was predeceased by two brothers, Salvatore Rizza and his late wife Millie, and Anthony 'Tony' Rizza. Funeral services will be Monday (March 23) at 8:45 a.m. from the D'Esopo-East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10 a.m. at St. Dunstan Church, 1345 Manchester Road, Glastonbury. Burial will be at St. Bernard Cemetery in Rockville.
