Lucy C. Torneo, 94, of Manchester and formerly of East Windsor, passed peacefully on Saturday, March 27, 2021 at Hartford Hospital. Born in Hartford on October 29, 1926, a daughter of the late John and Clara (LaBate) Torneo, she was a graduate of Weaver High School, class of 1944. Prior to her retirement, Lucy was a long-time employee at Bank of America. She enjoyed movies, shopping, taking care of people, playing cards and solving puzzles.
Lucy leaves two nieces, Janice Torneo of Manchester, Joan Dagon and her husband Henry “Skip” of East Harford; a nephew, Robert Torneo of East Windsor; two grand-nephews, Joe Dagon and his wife Sarah and their children of East Hartford, Jim Dagon and his wife Brittany and their children of New Britain; several former customers and dear friends. Besides her beloved parents, Lucy was predeceased by her brother, Joseph R. Torneo; and a niece, Joyce Torneo.
Funeral service will be Thursday (April 1, 2021) at 11 am at the D’Esopo East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford. Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery, (Section A), East Hartford. Lucy’s family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday morning from 9:30 am to 11 am at the funeral home chapel. Due to the current health pandemic, everyone is asked to please wear a face covering and adhere to all of the CDC and state regulations.
