Margaret M. (Corpora) Bennett, 70, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, April 24 2024 at Hartford Hospital surrounded by her family. She was born on May 29th 1953 in Bronx, NY to Joseph and Dorothy (Heintz) Corpora.
Margaret was a wonderful sister and a wonderful friend. Being the only girl with 3 brothers she grew up strong and tough but compassionate. She stood up for her brothers and fought hard for them. When one broke his leg she pushed him in a grocery carriage all the way home. If one of them was bullied she would call the kid out. She was never afraid.
Margaret helped her mother in the garden and that’s where she found her love for flowers. She went to college at SUNY in Farmingdale NY for floriculture to become a florist and met her former husband and father of her children.
She worked at St Christopher’s rectory for many years and did the floral arrangements for the church. Her talent brought joy to many including herself. She loved to cook, sing, and draw but most of all she loved her family. She always had a kind word to say to everyone she met and she brought joy to anyone near her. She always knew what to do and what to say in any situation.
Margaret was a dedicated and loving mother to her three children, Elizabeth Bennett and her husband Joe of Windsor locks CT, Matthew Bennett and his fiancé Megan of Windsor locks CT, and Amy of CT. She also leaves her brothers William L Corpora and his wife Jane of St. Louis MO, Christopher M. Corpora of Zephyrhills Fl, and Joseph D. Corpora and his wife Andrea of Glastonbury CT.
She is also survived by eleven grandchildren, two great grandchildren, four nieces, three nephews, three great nephews, her great niece, her former husband and father of her children Michael Bennett and her best friend Marcelle Hertel.
Funeral services for Margaret will be private. There are no calling hours. The D’Esopo East Hartford Memorial Chapel has been entrusted with the care of the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Margaret’s name may be made to Little Sisters of the Poor in Enfield,1365 Enfield St, Enfield, CT 06082.
