Margaret "Peggy" Cassello

Margaret "Peggy" (Swain) Cassello, 81 of East Hartford, beloved wife for 54 years of the late John Cassello, passed away on Monday, December 21, 2020 at St Francis Hospital. Born in Butler, PA on December 1, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Margaret (McCarren) Swain. Peggy worked for many years as a driver at Purolator, and then at Qualex Photo Lab. She made many friends during those years. She had a wonderful sense of humor, and was loved by everyone who met her. Peggy enjoyed being with her family, dining out, enjoying frozen margaritas, her pets, and NASCAR.

She will be forever missed by her three children, JoAnn and her significant other Charles of Windsor Locks, her son John and his wife Mary of South Windsor, and Daniel of East Hartford. Peggy also leaves five adored grandchildren, Christina and husband Matt, Tony and wife Nancy, Marie and husband Jose, Tina and Sara and 11 cherished great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Matthew, Jonathan, Anthony, Vivian, Jacob, Ava, Aly, Daniel, Mikayla and Anthony. She is also survived by her brother David, two sisters, Rita and Jean, as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family members. In addition to her husband and parents, Peggy was sadly predeceased by her beloved daughter, Lisa Marie; two brothers, Paul and William and two sisters, Mary Leah and Rose Marie. The family would like to extend special thanks for the wonderful care she received at St. Francis Hospital.

Services for Peggy will be private.
