

Maria Assunta (Failla) Pasquarelli, 83, of East Hartford, loving wife of over 59 years to Antonio M. Pasquarelli, peacefully entered into eternal life on Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at Hartford Hospital surrounded by her beloved family. Born on August 15, 1938 in Floridia, province of Siracusa, Sicily, Italy, a daughter of the late Giuseppe and Concetta (Corpace) Failla, she had been a resident of East Hartford for the past 55 years. A devout catholic, she was a longtime faithful communicant of St. Mary’s Church in East Hartford. Proud of her Italian heritage, she was a former member of the Floridian Society in Hartford.
Maria was a talented businesswoman who owned the former A & M Fashions, a clothing manufacturing factory in New Britain. She was also a former seamstress at Gino Fashions in Hartford and DiNinni Brothers in East Hartford. Later on, she was employed for over 20 years by Salmon Brook Health Care & Rehabilitation Center in Glastonbury where she would retire as a department supervisor.
Maria was a proud and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who enjoyed cooking Italian meals for her entire family and friends to enjoy. She loved travelling and entertaining for the holidays, birthdays, special occasions, and having the opportunity to spend time with all of her loved ones, including playing cards.
Maria is survived by her caring husband Antonio of East Hartford; three beloved daughters, Venera M. Pasquarelli and her husband Brian McManus of Suffield, Sabrina C. Pasquarelli-Concato and her husband Mark Concato of Pomfret, Eva A. Pasquarelli-Cormier and her husband Richard Cormier of East Hartford; three cherished grandchildren, Richard Cormier and his wife Christina of East Hartford, Justin Cormier and his wife Jessie-Lin of East Hartford, Holly Concato and her husband Adam Wanegar of Eastford; and four adored great-grandchildren, Kaleb, Jonah, Jemma, and James. She also leaves a brother, Dominic Failla and his wife Susan of Windsor; a sister, Lucia Failla of Sicily, Italy; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. Beside her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Sebastiano Failla of Sicily, Italy.
Private funeral service will be held at St. Mary’s – North American Martyrs Parish and entombment at Mt. Saint Benedict Cemetery at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Maria’s name may be made to the North American Martyrs Parish, 15 Maplewood Avenue, East Hartford, CT 06108.
