

Marie Almida (Roy) Dumais, 90, of Glastonbury and formerly of East Hartford, loving wife of 48 years of the late Marcel A. Dumais, passed away on Thursday, August 4, 2016 at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford. Born in Frenchville, ME on January 27, 1926, she was a resident of East Hartford for 60 years prior to moving to Glastonbury two years ago. Marie was employed as a Teacher’s Aide for several years and then by Travelers Insurance Company, Hartford where she retired after many years of service. A devout Catholic, Marie was a faithful and former active communicant of St. Christopher Church and Our Lady of Peace Church both in East Hartford. A talented duck-pin bowler, Marie was a member of several leagues for many years at Holiday Lanes in Manchester. She loved dancing, playing cards and cribbage, frequently visiting restaurants, and traveling with her husband (especially annually to Aruba). Most of all, Marie was devoted to her family as a wife, proud mother and grandmother who loved to host family gatherings.
Marie is survived by her four children, Mark Dumais and his wife, Cheryl of Franklin, MA, Diane Tolhurst and her husband, Rick of East Hartford, Ann Malchenson and her husband, Doug of Harrisburg, PA, and Chet Denmark of Harrisburg, PA; five grandchildren, Eric Caisse and his wife, Tracy, of Glastonbury, Tony and Jonathan Malchenson, Joshua Denmark, and Jessica Hank and her husband, Kyle all of Harrisburg, PA. She also leaves a sister, Marie Mae Daigle and her husband, Donald, of South Windsor; many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Funeral service will be Monday, August 8, 2016 with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 11 am at St. Christopher Church, 538 Brewer Street, East Hartford. (Everyone is asked to please go directly to the church on Monday morning). Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery, (Veteran’s Field #4), East Hartford. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Marie’s name may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. The D’Esopo East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford has been entrusted with the care of the funeral arrangements.
