Marie Fredrickson, 83, of East Hartford, passed away at home on Saturday, May 23, 2020. Born in Lawrence, MA, she was the daughter of the late Sam Di Mauro and Agnes and Mario Petteruti. She retired from the Corporate Risk and Safety Division of Travelers Insurance Co. in 2002. Marie was a lifelong learner, she loved taking classes that led her to help others and various ways. She taught computer skills to seniors allowing them to stay in touch with other family members and world news through social media.
Marie took on many different projects throughout her life. She was a member of East Hartford’s South East Residents and Merchants, Resident’s Advisory Board (RAB), East Hartford Community Emergency Response Team (CERT), Commission on Aging, she was a member of the first graduating class of the East Hartford Citizens Police Academy, and she was a member of the Red Hat Society, she was volunteer for the Annual Manchester Road Race and We Are The Children.
Marie was a very active and social person throughout her life, she never slowed down. She loved going out for lunch and dinner with family, or day trips with her senior friends in East Hartford. She loved going to Hampton Beach to visit family and friends. She and her closest friend, Eileen spent many nights playing Scrabble, laughing and reflecting on a lifelong friendship. Over the last several years Marie began and enjoyed her new found love of drawing and painting landscapes, animals, and angels.
She is survived by her children, Eric Fredrickson of East Hartford and Mia Ginter and her husband Kirk of East Hartford as well as four grandchildren, Desiree Washburn and her husband Ken and Krystyna Fredrickson and her partner Jose Rivera, Grace Armstrong and Parker Cashman, and 8 Great-grandchildren, and her beloved “Good Kitty” Munchkin She was predeceased by two daughters, Thea Radtke and Carolyn Pricket and a grandson, Christopher Bishop.
The family will have a gathering at a later date. Funeral services have been entrusted to D'Esopo East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter St., East Hartford.
