

Mary F. “Mona” (Niemczyk) Endrelunas, 88, of South Windsor, loving wife of over 49 years of the late Daniel E. Endrelunas, peacefully entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at Manchester Memorial Hospital. Born in Hartford on January 2, 1927, a daughter of the late Julian and Mary (Kamienski) Niemczyk, she had been a resident of South Windsor for the past 55 years. Mona was a graduate of Hartford Public High School, Class of 1945 and was a Secretary for many years at major corporations in the Greater Hartford area. A devout Catholic, Mona was a former communicant of SS. Cyril & Methodius Church, Hartford where her father was a founding member, and a faithful communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church, South Windsor. Mona was very proud of her Polish heritage and liked being a member of the Polish National Home in Hartford. She was a very talented craftswoman who loved knitting and crocheting various Afghans, scarves, gloves, and blankets for her family and friends to enjoy. Mona liked playing bingo, visiting the casinos and playing the slots, and was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots. Most of all, Mona was a devoted and dedicated wife, mother and grandmother with whom she cherished each moment.
Mona is survived by her three beloved children, Gregory D. Endrelunas and his wife, Heidie, of Marlborough, Donna M. Carney and her husband, Robert J., of South Windsor, and Jeffrey J. Endrelunas of South Windsor with whom she made her home; five special grandchildren who she was very proud of, Heather Carney of South Windsor, John Carney of Burbank, CA, Kyle Endrelunas of Manchester, Samantha Carney of South Windsor, and Kirstie Endrelunas of New London. She also leaves a sister, Helena Kyc of South Windsor; many sisters-in-law, adored nieces and nephews, and dear friends. Besides her husband and parents, Mona was predeceased by a granddaughter, Lindsay Carney of South Windsor; seven brothers; and three sisters.
Funeral service will be Saturday (November 14th) at 9:30 am from the D’Esopo-East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10 am at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 673 Ellington Road, South Windsor. Burial will follow at Wapping Cemetery, South Windsor. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home chapel on Saturday morning from 8 am to 9:30 am.
