

Mary B. (Foley) Hickman, 75, of Glastonbury and formerly of East Hartford, peacefully entered into eternal life on Saturday, (March 6, 2010) with her caring family by her side. Mary was the loving wife to the late Fulton Webster Hickman. Born in Tarbert, County Kerry, Ireland on February 2, 1935, a daughter of the late James and Bridget (Kissane) Foley, she had resided in East Hartford for over 40 years, prior to moving to Glastonbury five years ago. Prior to her retirement, Mary was a home day-care provider for many years. Mary was a former communicant of St. Christopher Church, East Hartford and a life-member and former officer of the Irish American Home Society in Glastonbury. Mary enjoyed cooking and baking for others, as well as knitting slippers, gloves, scarves, and blankets for her family members. Besides her beloved husband and parents, Mary was predeceased by a sister, Margaret Lynch of Hartford; and two brothers, Daniel Foley of South Windsor, and Michael Foley of County Kerry, Ireland. Mary is survived by her devoted son, Sean J. Hickman and his wife, Suzanne, of Glastonbury; a brother, William Foley of County Kerry, Ireland; and many dear nieces, nephews, and friends. Funeral services will be Thursday, March 11, at 9 a.m. from the D'Esopo-East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10 a.m. at St. Christopher Church, 538 Brewer Street, East Hartford. Burial will follow at Mount Saint Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield.
