Mary Domenica Heinz

Mary Domenica Heinz, age 97, lifelong resident of East Hartford, loving wife to the late Albert Edmund Heinz, peacefully entered into eternal life on March 10, 2023. Mary was born on March 22, 1925 to the late Virgilio and Letizia (Michielutti) DellaNave. Prior to her retirement, Mary had been a hairdresser for many years. A devout Catholic, Mary was a long time faithful communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church, now St. Edmund Campion Parish, East Hartford. Mary had enjoyed painting scenery using oil and acrylic paints in which she would sign them all “Domenica” in the bottom corner. Mary created and designed her own women’s clothing and fashionable hats also known as, “Hats Fashioned by Domenica”. Her favorite outing was going to tea events dressed up in her own fashionable dresses and hats. Mary will be forever missed and remembered by her family. This includes her sister Gina DeFranzo, and Mary’s children; Carol-Ann Heinz and her boyfriend Richard Jones of East Hartford, Eileen Hudgik of Cannon Beach, Oregon, Linda Heinz and her partner Steve Boutelle of East Hartford, Dave R. Heinz of East Hartford, and Sally Ann Tanasi dear friend considered like a daughter; her five grandchildren, AJ Corwin and her husband Jesse, Zachary Hudgik and his wife Robyn, Brianna Heinz, Brittany Heinz, and Steven Boutelle Jr., nine great grandchildren; Lyza, Cord, Remi, Lety, Lex, Clover, Aubriella, Claire, and Emma; along with many nieces, nephews, and friends. Mary was predeceased by her sister Anna Brugnetti and husband Alfred, sister Clorinda Zocco and husband Carmen, nephew Steven Zocco, brother-in-law Albert DeFranzo, nephew Albert DeFranzo Jr., and son-in-law Steven Hudgik. Relatives and friends may pay their respects to the Heinz family on Wednesday, March 22, 2023 from 4-7pm at the D’Esopo East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter St., East Hartford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday March 23, 2023 at 10:00 am in Our Lady of Peace Church of St. Edmund Campion Parish, 370 May Rd., East Hartford (Attendees are asked to please go directly to the church). Following the mass, Mary will be laid to rest next to her husband Albert in St. Mary’s Cemetery, East Hartford.
