Mary M. (petrone) Lamesa

Mary M. (Petrone) Lamesa, 95 years young, of East Hartford, beloved wife of the late Joseph D. Lamesa, died peacefully, Tuesday (March 10, 2009) at St. Francis Hospital, Hartford surrounded by her loving family. She was born February 11, 1914 in Hartford and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Adelina (Forgetta) Petrone. She was a lifelong faithful communicant of St. Rose Church, East Hartford and a member of the Ladies Guild. She was a member of the former Palazzolo Acreide Society, the oldest living member of Our Lady of Grace Society and Mt. Carmel St. Cristina Society, East Hartford. Mary loved playing bingo, reading, crocheting, solving word puzzles and cooking for family gatherings. She will be dearly missed by her devoted family, her son, Salvatore Lamesa of East Hartford; three daughters, Phyllis Bissette of Manchester, Mary Jane McNamara and her husband, Leo of Florida and Pauline Fusco and her husband, Michael of East Hartford; beloved grandchildren Kim Belanger and her husband Bob, Laurel Lee Lamesa, William E. Bissette, Daniel J. Bissette and his wife Alison and Giancarlo Fusco and his wife Lisa; nine great-grandchildren; her sister, Edith Panaro and her husband Nicola of Rocky Hill; her sister-in-law, Lena Belski of Rocky Hill and many cherished nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two grandsons, Raymond Fusco and Michael A. Fusco, Jr.; her sisters, Elizabeth Picano, Amelia Petrone and Rose Daly and her brother, Anthony Petrone. A special thank you to nurses Jayne and Wendy at the Oncology and Hospice Unit at St. Francis Hospital for their loving and tender care. Funeral service will be Saturday, 9 a.m. from the D'ESOPO East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter St., East Hartford followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick & St. Anthony Church in Hartford. Burial will be in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. Calling hours are Friday from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral chapel.
