

Mary H. (Pluta) Uras, 84, of East Hartford, loving wife of 60 years to George A. Uras, peacefully passed away with her caring family by her side on Monday (September 6, 2010). Born in Hartford on August 26, 1926, a daughter of the late Walter and Mary Pluta, she had been a resident of East Hartford for over forty years. Mary was a graduate of Hartford Public High School, Class of 1945, and was employed for 17 years by Travelers Insurance Company, Hartford. She was a faithful communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church, East Hartford and a former member of their Ladies Guild. Mary liked going to the casinos but most of all was a proud grandmother who enjoyed watching and supporting her grandchildren through the many years of playing sports. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Walter Pluta of Rocky Hill. Along with her beloved husband, George, Mary is survived by two daughters, Mary Jane Tierinni and her husband, Michael, of Manchester, Shirley Popowycz and her husband, John, of Hellertown, PA; her special granddaughter whom she shared the same birth date, Stephanie McKenna and her husband, Robert, of East Hartford, grandson, Steven Tierinni and his girl friend, Lauren Carlson of Vernon, granddaughter, Tanya Bubori and her fiancée, Matthew Weaver of Hellertown, PA, grandson, Kevin Popowycz and his wife, Becky, of Hopatcong, NJ; and two adored great-granddaughters, Savannah Bubori and Makayla Bubori both of Hellertown, PA. She also leaves two sisters-in-law, Isabelle Pluta of Rocky Hill, Ruth Kaminski and her husband, Joseph, of Glastonbury; special dear friends, Maria Tierinni of Manchester, Jackie Whalen and her husband, Dave, of East Hartford; several nieces and a nephew. Funeral services will be Friday (September 10, 2010) at 9:30 a.m. from the D'Esopo-East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10:30 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church, Cambridge Drive, East Hartford. Burial will be at Mount Saint Benedict Cemetery (Section J), Bloomfield. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home chapel on Thursday (September 9th) from 4-7 p.m. Memorial contributions in Mary's memory may be made to the DaVita Pdi-Rocky Hill Dialysis Center, 30 Waterchase Drive, Rocky Hill, CT 06067-2110.
