Matthew Benoit

Matthew Michael Benoit, 47, of East Hartford, unexpectedly passed away on Friday, August 21, 2026. Born in Hartford on November 14, 1978, he was the beloved son of the late Henry and Mary (Brasel) Benoit. Matthew was a graduate of Conard High School, West Hartford.

Matthew was a Sales Associate at Stop & Shop for the past 18 years, beginning at the East Hartford location before transferring to the Manchester store. He was a hard worker and took pride in what he did.

In his free time, Matthew was an avid video game player. He had a passion for music and especially enjoyed turning his own poetry into music. Matthew’s favorite food was spaghetti, and he took great pride in his appearance, particularly enjoying his collection of colognes and shoes. Above all, Matthew was a devoted and loving father. Nothing meant more to him than spending time with his daughter, Isabella, who was his greatest joy and the most important part of his life.

He will be lovingly remembered by his daughter, Isabella Virginia; his sister, Genny, and her husband, Ray; and his nieces and nephews, Neftali, Jayvian, and Genaliz.
