
Michael J. Mozzicato, 74, formerly of East Hartford, peacefully passed away on Thursday (November 17, 2005) at Hartford Hospital surrounded by his loving family members. Born in Hartford, a son of the late Anthony and Josephine (Uccello) Mozzicato, he was a life-long resident of the Greater Hartford area, with over 25 years in East Hartford. He attended Bulkeley High School in Hartford and was a star athlete, excelling in baseball, and was an overall sports enthusiast his entire life. He was also a proud U.S. Navy veteran. Prior to his retirement he was the owner and operator of Mozzicato Catering Co., out of East Hartford, which his son now operates. Prior to starting his catering business, Michael was a special Deputy Sheriff for the Hartford County Courts. Mr. Mozzicato is survived by his best friend of 52 years, Grace Mozzicato; five sons, Michael J. Mozzicato Jr. and his wife, Maria Celia, of Apollo Beach, FL, Paul Mozzicato and his wife, Cathy, of Sarasota, FL, Marty Mozzicato of East Hartford, Thomas Mozzicato of Valrico, FL, Larry Mozzicato and his wife, Kelly, of Southington; his daughter, Lisa Mozzicato of East Hartford; three brothers, Anthony Mozzicato and his wife, Mary, of South Windsor, Joseph Mozzicato and his wife, Mary, and John Mozzicato all in Florida; two sisters, Pauline Filipone and her husband, Jack, and Lucy Kivney all in Florida; two special grandchildren, Michael and Alexandria Mozzicato both of Apollo Beach, FL; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Funeral service will be Tuesday, November 22, at 9 a.m. from the D'ESOPO-East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10 a.m. at St. Rose Church, 33 Church Street, East Hartford. Burial will follow at Mount Saint Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield.
