Michael P. Simko, 56, of East Hartford passed away April 18, 2022 at St. Francis Hospital from complications due to a lifelong illness. He was born on February 20th, 1966. Michael is predeceased by his parents, Edward R. Simko and Susan (Hickey) Simko and a sister, Sandra A Simko. Michael leaves behind his son, Elijah Michael and his partner of 40 years Donna Laraba of East Hartford as well as his sisters, Susan Caminito and her husband Sal of Middletown, Shari Christiana and husband Jim of Windsor; brothers, Edward Simko of Florida and James Simko and his wife Debbie of Oklahoma along with many nieces and nephews and his friend Chino.
Michael did many odd jobs in his life, he was strong and a hard worker. He did landscaping and worked for a recycling company for many years. He enjoyed the simple things in life like watching a good ballgame, especially when his Boston Red Sox played. Michael loved to eat, loved cats, had a love for a good pair of sneakers and he had a great sense of humor. He had an extraordinary ability to feel or see things most people wouldn't, an "extra sense" of sorts. He enjoyed watching the "Nature" show when it was about animals and loved watching stories about the mysteries of Mt. Everest and many others. He had a soft spot for those struggling and tried to help people even though he himself didn’t have much. He will be greatly missed by his family, especially his sisters and close friends.
A private buried will take place alongside his mother at Hillside Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to the D'Esopo East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter St., East Hartford.
