Michell Donise Jones

Michell D. “Chell” Jones, 44, of East Hartford, loving partner for 16 years of William Spikes Sr., suddenly passed away in her sleep on Tuesday, February 28, 2023. Born in Brooklyn, New York on February 27, 1979, a daughter of the late Cynthia Jones, she resided in East Hartford for the past 10 years. Michell was presently working as a special needs teacher in the town of Manchester. Chell had always enjoyed cooking, especially chicken and noodles, along with playing her favorite game of Tetris. She enjoyed traveling to support and cheer her two sons at their AAU basketball games, and listening to music especially by Mary J. Blige. Michell also loved watching the ID Crime channel and learning how so many unsolved crimes end or get solved. This inspired her to earn a double major bachelor’s degree from the University of Phoenix in both Criminal Justice and Psychology.

Along with her fiancé, Michell is survived by her three children; Armoni Dennis, William Spikes Jr., Liam Spikes; and one granddaughter Evani Bittle all of East Hartford. She also leaves many siblings, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends.

A graveside service celebrating Michell’s life will be Friday (March 3, 2023) at 1:30 pm at the Silver Lane Cemetery, East Hartford. Everyone is asked to please meet directly at the cemetery on Friday afternoon. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Michell’s name may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, an organization that was dear to Michell’s heart. The D’Esopo-East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford has been entrusted with the care of the funeral arrangements.
