We will always love you Buzzy!  Played so many gigs with you and I can still see the smile through the sweat when you were groovin. Always upbeat and joyful  a wonderful and talented  man. You  are missed. To your family from ours a most heartfelt hug. He was a gem!

Mr Garret was my music teacher as well, and he was strict but fair. I remember him playing around in the gym, he’d love to show off his hook shot on the bball court. 
My condolences to the family.

My most sincere sympathy to the Garrett family and to all the students whose lives he touched with his love of music. He was a terrific drummer, I loved watching him play, he was awesome. He brought the best out in his students. His concerts were top notch and he was a great colleague and a pleasure to work with.  Heaven certainly gained one of the best drumming angels ever. Rest in peace, Buzz, we'll all miss you.

Like many others, Mr. Garrett was my music teacher, from 3rd through 8th grade. In my opinion he was the best music teacher Hall Memorial School ever had. He didn't just teach music he created musicians. He prepared us for the future.  He taught us discipline and proficiency. He had high expectations and if you weren't doing your best, he let you know. I was one of Mrs. Caviar's majorettes. He taught us and the band the correct way to march. He wanted us to look professional, and we practiced until we did. He was a great man and a great musician.

Sending my prayers to the Garrett family.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Garrett family. I taught with Buzz for many Years and we used to fly model airplanes together. He was a true friend who will be sadly missed.

I went to Hall Memorial School in the late 1960-early 1970 time period. The highlight of the year was listening to Mr. Garrett’s drum solo during our annual music concert. The entire audience would burst into cheers when he was done.   I also played trombone in the band and never understood how he could play every instrument.   Youth need great mentors and Mr. Garrett was one of the best.

I remember Mr. Garrett’s passion and enthusiasm for music. I feel so lucky to have had him as my music teacher from 3rd to 8th grade. I still randomly break out into song with music he taught me. He made a difference in my life and so many other lives. 

I am sending my deepest condolences to Mr. Garrett’s family, friends, and all those who were blessed to have been inspired by his influence.

Mr. Garrett provided so many wonderful memories to his HMS students. He had high expectations and I think that brings everyone higher. There are so many songs he taught us, but the one I will remember the most is Rockin Robin Tweet Twiddley Deet. I am glad he shared his gift and love of music with me. I hope his family is comforted knowing the impact he made here on earth and that he touched many lives. ❤️

Mr Garrett was my music teacher for many years at Hall Memorial School. His love  for music was infectious. He will be missed. 
Now he sings with the angels.

He was a very special man, teacher and my 1st teacher of color. But we didn’t care he was our teacher. He instilled things no other man has done for me. He was there from First grade all the way to 8th grade. He marched with us for The Memorial Day parade, we practiced on the playground and Mrs. caviar and her majorettes, my mom made lots of uniforms. It was great I watch our parade to today and wish we had some of the back. Mr. Garret you were one very special man

I am deeply saddened to hear of Mr Garrett’s passing. He was a tremendous gift to us at Hall Memorial School. He was firm but fair. He held us to a standard and had the ability to get us there - even us non-singers, non-musical types. He always made me feel part of and never lesser than. I would never be one of the stars but he made me feel secure in my importance of being part of the whole. I remember that I thought we sounded beautiful. “He had high hopes” will forever be etched into my mind. God Bless you Mr Garrett - May you rest in peace. And Thank You! I’m so very sorry to hear of the loss of Mr. Garrett. He was honestly one of my favorite teachers. He taught me to play the clarinet with tremendous patience. He was so very kind and encouraging. My deepest sympathy to your family and friends. The heavenly symphony just gained an amazing angel to add to the percussion section!!

Mr. Garrett was my music teacher at Hall Memorial School for many years. I admired his gentle guidance toward building confidence and skill as a singer and piano player. I wish his family peace and happy memories of a unique and kind human being.

I don’t know if we’ve ever actually met, but your husband  was the best of friends with my father Len. Mr. Garrett was one of my favorite teachers ever! I have very fond memories of the awesome music programs we did every year at Hall. I believe we did a Beatles medley one year and it was epic! To this day when I sing “Oh Come all Ye Faithfull,” I think of Mr Garrett. Equally memorable was the fact he would play basketball with me almost every day before and after school, because his room was right next to Len’s. I’m so sorry he is gone. But it brings me great joy to know him and Len are hanging out a laughing together. Sending prayers and so much love to your family.
